Kelsey wanted a website update to showcase her photography portfolio.

Her Goals:

  • “Let the work speak for itself” - she wanted to showcase her photos and videos as best as possible visually, with a simple non-copy-heavy website.

  • Pre-COVID-19 Kelsey wanted to highlight her broad portfolio of event photography.

  • Kelsey had a few additional portfolios she wanted made but did not want advertised on her website. This would allow her to send targeted clients her work, instead of Google Drive links, giving her work a more clean and professional look, while not advertising these portfolios and services to the broader public.

Squarespace Template

We put a lot of thought into choosing a website template on Squarespace that was made to show a lot of images and videos in a simple and beautiful way.

Landing Page

We also decided to give the website a beautiful landing page to showcase some of her work before you even enter the website.

Highlight Event Photography.

 
 

Linking Galleries

It was important to Kelsey not only to highlight her event photography skills but show the wide variety of events she’s shot and be able to tell the story of each one.

We used a grid photo layout to display one photo from each event and titling each photo. When you click on the event photo you will be taken to a gallery of all the best images from that event.

This was the best way to display more than 30 photos for each event since summary blocks only allow up to 30 photos in each summary gallery.

Goal #3

Create hidden portfolios for specific clients that she did not want to advertise on her website.

 
 

Hidden Portfolios

The Wedding and Real Estate portfolios are for a very targeted client base that she wanted to store on the website, but did not want to openly advertise.

The links to these portfolios are live but are hidden from internet searches.

She now has the ability to share the URL to the portfolios to clients if they inquire about these portfolios.

The Final Product

In the first two weeks of the launch of the new site, Kelsey saw growth in unique visitors increase by 400%, visits increased by 444%, and page views increased by 2,970%.

The massive increase in page views means that her site was able to hold viewership longer than the previous version of her site.
